Thanksgiving.

Why it was celebrated in the first place:

The Pilgrams slaughtered hundreds of Indians after the Indians so kindly taught us how to farm. We then had a feast to celebrate the Indian deaths with the food they taught us how to grow.

I guess they were thankful for the new techniques they learned and showed how thankful they were by killing the people who taught them??? Because thats what I would do. :P

Why it is celebrated today:

Do we even really know? I mean obviously its not because we slaughtered Indians because we dont even learn about that anymore. Is it because we learned how to survive on our own? Maybe its just a holiday. An excuse to be with the people that you love and eat a lot of food. Maybe its a day set aside to just tell people you're thankful because humans don't do that enough.

In reality yes, its a great holiday, people love it. But we shouldn't need it. Tell people you are thankful everyday. Someday things might change, someone might not be around anymore and they will never know how much you meant to them.
